Dog Days of Summer

We are already well into the heat of the summer! While this can be an exciting time there are plenty of considerations that we need to make for our furry friends.

1.Don’t leave pets in cars!  I know, we hear this one all the time, but it still happens so we will keep repeating ourselves.

In 30 minutes at 70 degrees outside a car can get to 104 degrees, yikes!

2.Several breed and health conditions can predispose a dog to heat exhaustion

Dogs with short noses, heart conditions and laryngeal paralysis are all at increased risk
Keep these guys cool and make sure to bring them inside if they are looking hot

3.    If the asphalt is too hot for you to walk on, it is too hot for your dog

The asphalt can reach dangerous temperatures at a mere 77 degrees outside

If you suspect your dog is overheated, please call us immediately!
