Your Questions, Answered with Care

We know that visiting the veterinarian often comes with questions. Below you will find answers to some of the most common questions we receive at Creekside Animal Hospital in West Lafayette.

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes, we are currently accepting new patients. While in the past we have required a deposit for all new client and new patient appointments, we are currently dropping this requirement for new registrants.

Do you offer urgent or emergency care?

We are currently adding more details to this section. In the meantime, if your pet is experiencing an urgent medical concern, please call our office directly so we can guide you on the next best steps.

Do you have availability today?

In many cases, we are able to schedule appointments within three days. Availability can vary depending on the time of year and the nature of your pet’s needs, so we encourage you to call our office for the most up-to-date scheduling options.

How far out are your surgery and dental appointments booking?

Surgery and dental procedures are typically booked a couple of weeks in advance. If your pet requires a procedure, we recommend scheduling as soon as possible to secure a convenient date.

Can I bring multiple pets? Do you offer multiple pet discounts?

Yes, you are welcome to bring multiple pets to your appointment. At this time, we do not offer multiple pet discounts.

Does my pet have to be in a carrier or on a leash when they visit?

Yes. For the safety of your pet, other patients, and our team, all pets must be properly secured when visiting Creekside Animal Hospital. Dogs should be on a leash, and cats and other small animals should be in a secure carrier. This helps prevent stress, injury, or unexpected interactions in the lobby and exam rooms, allowing us to provide a calm and safe experience for everyone.

Do you perform declaw procedures?

Yes, four of our doctors currently perform declaw procedures. If you have questions about whether this option is appropriate for your pet, we are happy to discuss it with you in more detail.

How do you handle anxious or reactive patients?

We use low-stress handling techniques to help pets feel as comfortable as possible during their visit. When appropriate, we may also recommend a combination of anxiety-reducing medications that we refer to as our “chill protocol” to create a calmer, safer experience.

Do you provide muzzles, or should I bring my own?

We do provide muzzles when needed. However, if your pet already has a muzzle that fits well and they are comfortable wearing it, we encourage you to bring it along, as it may help reduce stress during the visit.
